He thinks the result was predetermined and he is not the only one

Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones has become the latest voice to suggest that the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was rigged, citing a number of different reasons.

The fight between Tyson and Paul was one of the most hotly-anticipated sporting events of 2024 and when it finally came around in November following an initial postponement, fans were seated and ready.

In the end, there was not much of a contest as Paul seemingly strolled to a victory. Naturally, that has led a lot of people to suggest that there was no real contest as it had already been decided that Tyson would lose.

Jones is an NFL icon and is known to be one of Tyson‘s closest sporting friends, and he has waited until 2025 to share his thoughts on the situation.

Like many others, he thinks that Paul showed nowhere near the level of aggression it would take to legitimately beat Tyson, but the victor has denied these suggestions on numerous occasions since the fight.

Pacman’s thoughts

Jones said to The Mirror US: “I truly think the fight was rigged because if you look at the first round, Mike hit him with a couple and it looked like he told him to slow down.

Did I think his feet were all the way there? No, I didn’t. He was a little wobbly on the feet. I like Mike Tyson. I love Mike Tyson. I love to see a real fight with Mike Tyson.

Paul knocked everybody else out. He wasn’t as aggressive though with Mike. He looked a little timid to me. If you had asked me after that first round. ( I’d have thought) ‘ Oh s***, this is a difficult one.'”

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has suspended boxers Mike Tyson and Jake Paul for a statutory 24-day period in the wake of their high-profile fight in Arlington on Saturday.

The state’s disciplinary board imposed a brief ban on the former undisputed heavyweight champion and YouTuber-turned-boxer.

The sanctions follow Paul’s unanimous victory in their eight-round fight, which commentators saw as an uninspired encounter.

After eight two-minute rounds, Paul, 27, was unanimously proclaimed the winner of the Texas fight, which was streamed live on Netflix. It was the first sanctioned fight since 2005 for 58-year-old Tyson. The bout attracted over 100 million spectators.

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, competitors are required to take three days off after each round.

Two more competitors face suspension

The decision impacted other competitors on the card. Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor were given extended 45-day suspensions after their full-distance battle.

Both competitors will now be sidelined for more than a month after Taylor won the battle by unanimous decision.

Following the fight, Serrano initially claimed that Taylor intentionally headbutted her in the ring, causing a gash above her right eye. However, she later offered congratulations to her opponent.

“Congratulations to @KatieTaylor in her decision win. Tempers are flared when you’re in the heat of battle & you say things you shouldn’t say. I’m not one to ever disrespect an opponent & these were never my intentions to Katie. … In no way should I ever had said she did it purposely, it’s her style that makes for them. … Whenever our teams can agree on a Trilogy I’ll be ready,” she wrote on X.

Ahead of their highly anticipated boxing match on Nov. 15, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are set to have a face-to-face encounter at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Aug. 18.

Most Valuable Promotions, Netflix, and Fanatics Events released a joint statement Tuesday, noting that the Tyson-Paul faceoff will occur Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. ET inside the Javits Center in NYC.

Tyson and Paul were originally scheduled to clash on July 20, but the fight date was moved back due to Tyson dealing with an ulcer.

Despite the change, Tyson vs. Paul is still set to be held at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and it will stream live on Netflix.

After Tyson vs. Paul was postponed, Paul took a contest against former UFC fighter Mike Perry in July and beat him by sixth-round technical knockout to improve his career pro boxing record to 10-1.

On the heels of his big win over Perry, Paul commented on the impending showdown with Tyson, saying:

“After eating Mike Perry as an appetizer, I’m ready to go for the main course on Friday, Nov. 15. To be fighting the biggest, baddest boxer ever is a dream come true for me and it is going to be a nightmare for Mike Tyson. It’s cool to be featured at Fanatics Fest alongside some of the biggest names in sports and I look forward to delivering a show the fans won’t soon forget on Friday, Nov. 15.”

Tyson also gave his thoughts on Fanatics Fest and provided a positive health update: “I’m looking forward to facing off with Jake Paul at Fanatics Fest in NYC. The countdown is back on. I’m feeling great and looking forward to knocking out Jake Paul on Friday, Nov. 15 at AT&T Stadium in Texas on Netflix.”

When Tyson and Paul finally meet on Nov. 15, Tyson will have a huge advantage in terms of boxing experience and accomplishments, as he went 50-6 in his career and won multiple world heavyweight titles.

However, Tyson is now 58 years old and has not had an official professional fight since 2005.

By comparison, Paul has only 11 fights to his credit, but he is more than 30 years younger at 27, and all of his fights have occurred in the past four years.

Still, Tyson figures to be the biggest test of Paul’s career thus far since the bulk of his fights have come against former MMA fighters and relatively unknown boxers.
