Can prime Floyd Mayweather beat Gervonta Davis? While an actual fight between them is never happening, this didn’t stop boxing commentator ShowBizz the Adult from pitting the former promoter boxer duo against each other in a fantasy clash! And boy, does a fight between them look spicy!

As many are well aware of, ‘Money’ Mayweather retired from the sport back in 2017 after a win against Conor McGregor in a crossover boxing match. In contrast, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis has just stepped into his prime years, having defeated Frank Martin in his last outing. But the question is, will Mayweather’s defense prove too much for ‘Tank’? Or will Davis’ destructive power tear through Mayweather’s defense?

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather

Speaking about the subject in a clip he shared on his X account today, the boxing commentator suggested a fight between Floyd and Davis would be great at 135-pounds. However, from the beginning, he had the winner in his mind. He said, “But Ima tell you this though Floyd wins”.

While many would agree with ShowBizz, he goes on to emphasize Mayweather’s speed to justify his prediction. “Floyd got a great ass chin, Floyd is a killer, and he may be twice the speed of Tank. People forget how fast Floyd was”, said the boxing commentator. He goes as far as to compare Mayweather’s speed to one of boxing’s biggest legends.

“Floyd handspeed would rival Sugar Ray Leonard. Remember Pretty Boy, how he would be like his arms would be out here, and he will be just depending on his reflexes and Bam Bam”, said ShowBizz. Claiming to have thought about this fantasy matchup for a couple of weeks, ShowBizz the Adult doubled down on his prediction by repeating Floyd would win.

Floyd Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather is 47! Yes, he partakes in exhibition boxing matches every now and then, but none of his opponents are near the caliber of the boxer Davis is. Time and age come for every boxer and Mayweather is no different—it would be extremely unlikely for Mayweather to have retained his speed and power. Gervonta Davis would easily steamroll through the former five division champion.

And get this, even ‘Tank’ Davis’ coach feels the same way, as he challenged Floyd Mayweather for an actual fight against Davis!

Curmel Moton added another victory to his record by defeating Nikolai Buzolin in California. The 18-year-old boxing prodigy showcased his skills in the lightweight division for the first time, knocking Buzolin down in the first round and securing a second-round victory as the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

“He had a lot of experience, but I knew I was gonna come out here and handle business,” Moton said.

“I’ve had pressure on me my whole life. I’ve always had that [Mayweather] name on my shoulders. I’m used to it. When they call my name again I’ll be here, and I’ll put on another good performance.”

Floyd Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was present at ringside, cheering for Moton throughout the bout. After the fight, Mayweather expressed immense pride in Moton‘s performance, reflecting on how he has mentored the young boxer at his famous gym.

Mayweather hails Moton

Moton‘s impressive win comes after previously defeating Anthony Cuba on the undercard of the Tim Tszyu-Sebastian Fundora headliner. Despite missing out on opportunities to appear in high-profile events like the Canelo Alvarez-Jaime Munguia show and Gervonta Davis‘ June 15 title defense, Moton‘s latest victory reaffirms his potential.

“I’m happy that I was able to be a part of his life and take him to that next level,” said Mayweather.

“He wanted to be great. He’s boxed so many different champions throughout the years, even as an amateur. I just want the best for him, but, so much talent.”

Whether it’s showing off his multiple mansions, private jets or expensive watches, Mayweather is known to splash the cash.

But among his favourite things to buys are cars – and Mayweather has lots of them.

In a recent Instagram post, the unbeaten American gave his 29.9m followers a look into just one of his driveways.

Parked out front is a black Rolls Royce Ghost, which costs up to £250,000.

Sitting next to it was a matching black Rolls-Royce Phantom – priced at close to £380,000 – which has £650 Gucci pillows and furry seats.

Floyd Mayweather

Mayweather was not done there as he revealed his secret purchase, an £85,000 black Mercedes van which is fitted with an Apple TV and espresso machine.

He also got himself McLaren GTS, worth £210,000 and had two more black Rolls Royces down the end of the drive.

The ring great did not limit his shopping to just cars as he revealed his brand new himalayan Gucci backpack – which fetched for £85,000.

Mayweather is the highest-earning fighter of all time with his wins over Manny Pacquiao, 45, and Conor McGregor, 35, making him over £450m alone.

Floyd Mayweather

And he continues to box in exhibitions even in retirement, boasting of earning up to £15m at a time.

His last came against the grandson of notorious New York crime boss John Gotti – which ended in a DQ win before a brawl broke out in the ring.

Mayweather, 47, now prepares to rematch Gotti III, 31, on August 24 in Mexico.

Inside Floyd Mayweather’s extravagant lifestyle…

Why does the discussion around Floyd Mayweather Jr.‘s legacy always raise so many questions, while other boxers—both his contemporaries and predecessors—enjoy a seamless postscript? Did he do anything wrong? Next month, the 47-year-old undefeated former champion will enter the ring for another exhibition match in Mexico City against John Gotti III. Their previous encounter in June last year ended in the most controversial manner imaginable.

One of the most frequent questions raised over Mayweather Jr.’s legacy has been the alleged tactic to delay a fight. While it would amp up the anticipation around the clash, his own risks would be minimized, and all the while he would make the most of the match in financial terms. However, a well-known boxing enthusiast and YouTube content creator argues that it may not be the right approach to evaluate ‘Money Mayweather’s greatness. There might be an altogether different reason why he didn’t quite reach the mark set by some of the other boxing greats.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather 2 Announcement | Hypebeast

Floyd Mayweather Jr., unquestionably among the best

‘@ShowBizz The Adult’, made an interesting observation. He brought up the June 29 fight between Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez and Juan Francisco Estrada. The two super flyweights gave an outstanding performance in what many consider a ‘fight of the year’ nominee. However, it was Rodriguez, who, despite suffering a career-first knockdown, emerged a star that night.

His stellar performance has now pushed him to fifth place on Ring magazine’s P4P list. Many now consider him the next big thing in boxing. But for all his feats, one key aspect ‘@ShowBizz The Adult’ took up was the age gap between the ‘Bam’ and ‘El Gallo’. While the former turned 24 in January, the Mexican turned 34 in April.

So the YouTube boxing commentator argued that while no one questions Rodriguez’s accomplishment, vis-à-vis Floyd Mayweather Jr., there has to be some consistency. He gave an example of the 2013 clash with Canelo Alvarez. Against ‘The Money’s 36 years, the Mexican stood 23, 13 years his junior. But to what end? From many quarters, noises came up about how he had defeated a relatively inexperienced boxer.

Hence, if one decides to laud ‘Bam’ Rodriguez, then Mayweather Jr. deserves all the appreciation in the world for the boxing clinic he delivered against Alvarez. What would have happened if instead of ‘Bam’, Estrada had won? Would he have received the same amount of criticism as Mayweather Jr. did?

Social Media Data Shows Floyd Mayweather Jr. Vs. Manny Pacquiao 2 Still Captivates Boxing Fans

So what ‘The Money’ did was indeed great. But where he deviated from the rest of the boxing giants was in terms of restricting his talent. He never took the risk of venturing into uncharted waters and fighting in maybe higher divisions.

Could he have done more to secure the top spot?

Where I knock Floyd is I think Floyd should have kept, I think he should have fought at 160; I think should have kept going like Duran did, like Pacquiao did, to see how great is he really, like Tommy Hearns did. Listen, you slaying everybody here; keep going,” said ‘@ShowBizz The Adult’.

One might find some merit in the boxing commentator’s argument. Floyd Mayweather Jr. was a five-division champion. But his career trajectory shows stranded phases, and then sometimes he would go down across weight classes. Now take Tommy Hearns, for example. Starting with the welterweight division, the ‘Motor City Cobra’ broke through the walls of the cruiserweight division.

Floyd Mayweather may have never tasted defeat as a pro, but he is familiar with the gut-wrenching feeling from his amateur days.

The boxing icon is widely considered to be one of the greatest professional pugilists of all time and famously retired with an unblemished 50-0 record.

During the course of a pro career stretching from 1996 to 2017, Mayweather picked up 12 major world championships in five weight classes from super featherweight to super welterweight and beat 24 former or current world champions.

As an amateur, Mayweather also enjoyed plenty of success.

Floyd Mayweather

‘TBE’ won three national Golden Gloves championships in 1993, 1994 and 1996 – and scooped a bronze medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

However, he was unable to maintain an undefeated record in his vested years.

Mayweather lost eight times in a 92-fight amateur career (84-8) against varying levels of opposition.

Many sites list him as being 84-6 while others claim he had even lost as many as nine fights, yet there is only proof of eight – most of which aren’t accompanied by video footage.

The first defeat Mayweather suffered in the unpaid ranks was a points loss to Arnulfo Bravo at the 1994 United States Junior National Championships.

Floyd Mayweather

Bravo was a decent amateur, who won the 1995 national Golden Gloves (112lbs) but wasn’t able to replicate the same kind of successes in the pros.

He fought six times in the paid ranks from 1996 to 1997, compiling an unremarkable 4-2 record.

The next man to beat Mayweather was Martin Castillo at a 1994 United States vs Mexico dual meet in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Shakur Stevenson is a free agent now, as his contract with Bob Arum’s Top Rank ended with his July 6 fight against German Olympic Medalist Artem Harutyunyan. Every top promoter has now his eyes on the WBC lightweight champion. In addition to Top Rank’s $15 million offer which Stevenson declined, Oscar De La Hoya and Eddie Hearn are also eager to sign the Newark native to their respective stables. Nonetheless, according to an insider, Stevenson might have a name in mind about who he wants to collaborate with.

There has been a lot of chatter about who Stevenson will choose as his promoter, and there are rumors that Floyd Mayweather Jr. may win the race to sign the young boxer soon. According to a YouTuber and boxing insider with ties to the Mayweather Team, Floyd may just have the perfect bait for Shakur.

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather

Shakur Stevenson’s chance to possibly fight Gervonta Davis

Boxing insider and YouTuber ‘Blue Blood Sports TV’ began unveiling the rumor by first dismissing the claim that Shakur Stevenson had brought in Floyd Mayweather as his official advisor. And that the five-division champ was advising Stevenson to fight “the likes of Ryan Garcia”. Dispelling the notion, the host of Blue Blood Sports said, “Well, this is not true people, this is not true. He has an advisor, and he has a manager in the form of J Prince. But does he look at Floyd Mayweather for advice, absolutely.”

‘Blue Blood Sports TV’ revealed that a supposed FaceTime call that Stevenson had with Floyd Mayweather recently led many to think that Shakur was joining Mayweather Promotions instead of Matchroom or Golden Boy Promotions.

The Boxing insider added, “But now, I’ll tell you what – Floyd Mayweather has a deal on the table that he is offering Shakur Stevenson, I can tell you that. It’s a multi-fight deal that’s going to guarantee Shakur Stevenson gets a fight with Gervonta Davis at some point in time.”  This, told to Blue Blood Sports by a source inside Mayweather’s team, is what leads the insider to believe that Floyd Mayweather may sign ‘Sugar’ soon.

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather

The Newark-based boxer has long been anticipating a clash against Gervonta Davis. If these rumors really turn out to be true, fans will be thrilled to witness this much-awaited showdown. Interestingly, only a few days ago, Shakur Stevenson had expressed his openness to joining hands with ‘Money’.

Shakur Stevenson is open to a “partnership” with Floyd Mayweather

‘Sugar’ and the boxing great share a good relationship with each other. So much so that Mayweather even called Stevenson after his fight with Harutyunyan to suggest little things that he could have done better. While discussing the possibility of Shakur joining Mayweather Promotions on the CigarTalk show, Stevenson stated, “It’s an option, for sure. I got nothing but respect and love for Floyd.”

Floyd Mayweather

Furthermore, the 22-0 boxer added, “At the end of the day, I wouldn’t mind working with Floyd as long as it makes sense, and it is a partnership type of thing. I appreciate Floyd.” Gervonta Davis was the main attraction of Mayweather Promotions. But in 2022, Tank parted ways with the organization.

Shakur Stevenson could take that spot, and he would naturally receive tutelage from the great Floyd Mayweather as well. Do you think Stevenson will join Mayweather Promotions? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. is known for his love for cars. His garage is full of opulent automobiles, and now he has added one more to that. However, it is not for himself, he has gifted it to his mother. Interestingly, many fans might not know that the Mayweather family has a tradition for the 4th of July. The family has been carrying out a practice of giving gifts on American Independence Day.

The former boxing champion bought a car for his mother keeping the holiday in mind. The 47-year-old shared a video of the car on an Instagram story, revealing that even though his mother does not know how to drive a car, she would definitely enjoy a ride in it.

He was also heard saying in the video: “This all about taking care of family. Just got my mom a new Mercedes, come check it out. You know black everything because we killing in the game, come check it out. It’s good for her. Ball seats, you know like an NBA ball. Mom I love you, got you another gift.”

Despite more than a dozen cars parked in his garage, he never stops adding more wheels in his garage. He retired from professional boxing in 2017 when he extended his record to 50-0 after defeating UFC superstar Conor McGregor. Billed as ‘The Money Fight’, it was one of the most lucrative fights in the history of the sport.

Although ‘Money’ has retired from professional boxing, he is often seen inside the ring for exhibition fights. Mayweather might not be an active name in the current boxing scene, but he makes sure to make headlines with his life outside the ring. Apart from the car he gifted his mother, there are a few more cars that he recently added to his garage.

The car shopping spree continues

The former five-division champion is arguably the most lucrative fighter in boxing history. Despite being retired, he still lives a king-size life. Even though he no longer receives the large paychecks he once did for his fights, he has amassed millions of dollars through astute investment choices. His recent upgrades to his car collection serve as evidence.

Being a boxer one requires a strong core to be able to land effective punches and react fast while in the ring. For the same reason, among other workouts, Floyd Mayweather would regularly condition his abs with the help of an ab-roller. Of late, a YouTuber popularly known as Barnation tried Mayweather’s workout with the ab roller to get unexpected results. However, it was not boxing that encouraged the YouTuber, it was rather a group of women!

As Barnation narrated the tale on YouTube, one day he went to the beach wearing a white vest. Of course, it was not a commendable choice as Barnation was not in his best shape. In his own words, Barnation looked like “Vin Diesel” in “Kevin Hart’s clothes.” However, to his surprise, a group of very attractive women approached him. But why?

The group of women who spotted Barnation seemed well-behaved and the YouTuber delighted in finding their company. However, little did he know, he was about to face disappointment. “So, long story short. This really pretty group of girls approached me and asked for directions to a restaurant. There’s nothing wrong with that,” said Barnation recalling the unfortunate incident. Soon the group of women left the YouTuber embarrassed out of the blue.

But, it’s the way they asked me for directions. They said, ‘Excuse me, Sir, you look like you know where there’s a good place to eat really really good food,” revealed Barnation hilariously! “I just looked down and that thing [the belly] was hanging,” he said with disappointment.

But, Barnation had to be sure. So he, despite feeling awkward, confronted those women and asked, “Why would you say that?” In their reply, they made matters worse by explicitly saying, “You know your stomach.” So, Barnation misguided the women and decided to work as hard as Floyd Mayweather did.

Did Barnation achieve his goals following Floyd Mayweather’s routine?

Motivated to get back in shape, Barnation initially did “10 reps 10 times” i.e. he rolled his abs 100 times a day. However, after each rep, he would rest for a minute. But the journey was not easy! While it would be easy initially, after some time, his body would shake and he really had to push himself beyond his limits. “I felt like the food that I had the night before wanted to pop back out,” said Barnation, recalling the pain he survived. But, he did not give up.

From the 16th day onward, Barnation started to feel strong and he could feel that he was getting back in shape. Soon, he could roll his abs 200 times a day. At the end of four weeks, Barnation saw the result and was impressed. He was back in shape and wanted to return to the beach shirtless! So, he encouraged others who wish to get in shape too. “This is definitely beneficial, it really works,” he added. Let us know what you think of Barnation’s struggle in the comments below.

One of boxing’s hottest prospects, Curmel Moton, will feature on Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal’s undercard this weekend.

On Wednesday night, the 18-year-old prospect, who fights under Floyd Mayweather’s promotional banner, was added to Saturday’s card as a late addition.

He will face Russian journeyman Nikolai Buzolin (9-8-1) in his fourth professional outing (3-0).

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. | Biography & Facts | Britannica

Even though Moton is still in the fledgling stages of his promising career, there is plenty of hype surrounding the teenager.

Several media outlets have dubbed him ‘the next Floyd Mayweather’ while his mentor insists Moton is ‘destined to be great’.

Mayweather has consistently slotted Moton onto big undercards in order to get as many eyes on his young prospect as possible.

His debut, a first-round blowout of the then-undefeated Ezequiel Flores, took place on the Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo bill last September.

Meanwhile, his most recent outing against Anthony Cuba (7-1-2) – the only fight of his career so far to go the distance – was booked for the Tim Tszyu vs Sebastian Fundora show in March.

It is, therefore, no surprise that he has been added to the Diaz vs Masvidal showpiece event, which has garnered a lot of interest from both the boxing and MMA worlds.

The pair are set to rematch in boxing, five years removed from their inaugural encounter at UFC 244.

That night, Masvidal got his hand raised after the fight was waved off in the third round due to a deep cut above Diaz’s eye.

Now, they are set to settle their score at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California in the main event of an eleven-fight card.

The co-main event sees former IBF middleweight world champion, Daniel Jacobs (37-4), take on Shane Mosley Jr (21-4) – the son of boxing Hall of Famer Shane Mosley – while Ryan Garcia’s brother Sean (7-0-1) is also in action against the undefeated Amado Vargas (10-0).

Elsewhere on the bill, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis (1-0) is set to make his second appearance in the paid ranks against Team Diaz’s Chris Avila (4-1) following his win over Roy Jones Jr.

There is also an exciting lightweight fight between Devin Cushing (13-0) and Manuel Correa (13-1) which is being promoted as ‘one to watch’.
