KSI is out to gain revenge against Floyd Mayweather for how the boxing legend treated his younger brother Deji.

Mayweather faced YouTuber Deji in a shock exhibition bout in Dubai in 2022.

But the American icon was accused of forcing Deji into boxing in smaller 10oz gloves on the night of the bout – opposed to a bigger 14oz pair.

It was also claimed Mayweather refused to take it easy on his inexperienced opponent despite a verbal agreement to do so.

Older brother KSI is still seething with the Hall of Fame great and wants to settle it in the ring.

Floyd Mayweather

His trainer Alexis Demetriades told SunSport: “There’s a personal thing there with Deji, JJ’s upset with Mayweather. There’s a personal thing.

“They changed the gloves from 14s to 10s on the night, they gave him danger money, they paid him to do it.

“And one of Mayweather’s camp came up to Deji and said, ‘If it gets a little bit hot and you’re in the clinch just tell Floyd to calm down a little bit because it’s an exhibition and he’ll be with you.

“At one point, Deji was like, ‘S***, it’s getting a little bit hot.’ And Mayweather was like, ‘F*** you. I’m Floyd Mayweather’, and tried to kill him.’

“That’s JJ’s little brother. So there’s animosity there, there’s an appetite for that fight for JJ, he thinks he’s a p***k.”

Mayweather, 47, officially retired in 2017 after beating ex-UFC champion Conor McGregor, 35.

But he has continued to box in exhibitions since against stars of the social media, MMA and boxing world.

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather

Among those have been YouTuber Logan Paul, 29, and KSI’s brother Deji, 27.

But coach Demetriades insisted KSI, 31, is not interested in an exhibition against Mayweather and instead wants redemption.

Demetriades said: “He’s going to try and kill him. There’s animosity there. It’s on sight. Like JJ wants to kill him. That’s a fight he wants.

“It’s nuts, it’s crazy to say though, isn’t it? You’ve got a YouTuber that wants to fight Floyd Mayweather.”

Mayweather returns on August 24 in Mexico against John Gotti III -grandson of the notorious mob boss.

Whether it’s showing off his multiple mansions, private jets or expensive watches, Mayweather is known to splash the cash.

But among his favourite things to buys are cars – and Mayweather has lots of them.

In a recent Instagram post, the unbeaten American gave his 29.9m followers a look into just one of his driveways.

Parked out front is a black Rolls Royce Ghost, which costs up to £250,000.

Sitting next to it was a matching black Rolls-Royce Phantom – priced at close to £380,000 – which has £650 Gucci pillows and furry seats.

Mayweather was not done there as he revealed his secret purchase, an £85,000 black Mercedes van which is fitted with an Apple TV and espresso machine.

He also got himself McLaren GTS, worth £210,000 and had two more black Rolls Royces down the end of the drive.

The ring great did not limit his shopping to just cars as he revealed his brand new himalayan Gucci backpack – which fetched for £85,000.

Mayweather is the highest-earning fighter of all time with his wins over Manny Pacquiao, 45, and Conor McGregor, 35, making him over £450m alone.

Floyd Mayweather

And he continues to box in exhibitions even in retirement, boasting of earning up to £15m at a time.

His last came against the grandson of notorious New York crime boss John Gotti – which ended in a DQ win before a brawl broke out in the ring.

Mayweather, 47, now prepares to rematch Gotti III, 31, on August 24 in Mexico.

Inside Floyd Mayweather’s extravagant lifestyle…

Why does the discussion around Floyd Mayweather Jr.‘s legacy always raise so many questions, while other boxers—both his contemporaries and predecessors—enjoy a seamless postscript? Did he do anything wrong? Next month, the 47-year-old undefeated former champion will enter the ring for another exhibition match in Mexico City against John Gotti III. Their previous encounter in June last year ended in the most controversial manner imaginable.

One of the most frequent questions raised over Mayweather Jr.’s legacy has been the alleged tactic to delay a fight. While it would amp up the anticipation around the clash, his own risks would be minimized, and all the while he would make the most of the match in financial terms. However, a well-known boxing enthusiast and YouTube content creator argues that it may not be the right approach to evaluate ‘Money Mayweather’s greatness. There might be an altogether different reason why he didn’t quite reach the mark set by some of the other boxing greats.

Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather 2 Announcement | Hypebeast

Floyd Mayweather Jr., unquestionably among the best

‘@ShowBizz The Adult’, made an interesting observation. He brought up the June 29 fight between Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez and Juan Francisco Estrada. The two super flyweights gave an outstanding performance in what many consider a ‘fight of the year’ nominee. However, it was Rodriguez, who, despite suffering a career-first knockdown, emerged a star that night.

His stellar performance has now pushed him to fifth place on Ring magazine’s P4P list. Many now consider him the next big thing in boxing. But for all his feats, one key aspect ‘@ShowBizz The Adult’ took up was the age gap between the ‘Bam’ and ‘El Gallo’. While the former turned 24 in January, the Mexican turned 34 in April.

So the YouTube boxing commentator argued that while no one questions Rodriguez’s accomplishment, vis-à-vis Floyd Mayweather Jr., there has to be some consistency. He gave an example of the 2013 clash with Canelo Alvarez. Against ‘The Money’s 36 years, the Mexican stood 23, 13 years his junior. But to what end? From many quarters, noises came up about how he had defeated a relatively inexperienced boxer.

Hence, if one decides to laud ‘Bam’ Rodriguez, then Mayweather Jr. deserves all the appreciation in the world for the boxing clinic he delivered against Alvarez. What would have happened if instead of ‘Bam’, Estrada had won? Would he have received the same amount of criticism as Mayweather Jr. did?

Social Media Data Shows Floyd Mayweather Jr. Vs. Manny Pacquiao 2 Still Captivates Boxing Fans

So what ‘The Money’ did was indeed great. But where he deviated from the rest of the boxing giants was in terms of restricting his talent. He never took the risk of venturing into uncharted waters and fighting in maybe higher divisions.

Could he have done more to secure the top spot?

Where I knock Floyd is I think Floyd should have kept, I think he should have fought at 160; I think should have kept going like Duran did, like Pacquiao did, to see how great is he really, like Tommy Hearns did. Listen, you slaying everybody here; keep going,” said ‘@ShowBizz The Adult’.

One might find some merit in the boxing commentator’s argument. Floyd Mayweather Jr. was a five-division champion. But his career trajectory shows stranded phases, and then sometimes he would go down across weight classes. Now take Tommy Hearns, for example. Starting with the welterweight division, the ‘Motor City Cobra’ broke through the walls of the cruiserweight division.

Floyd Mayweather may have never tasted defeat as a pro, but he is familiar with the gut-wrenching feeling from his amateur days.

The boxing icon is widely considered to be one of the greatest professional pugilists of all time and famously retired with an unblemished 50-0 record.

During the course of a pro career stretching from 1996 to 2017, Mayweather picked up 12 major world championships in five weight classes from super featherweight to super welterweight and beat 24 former or current world champions.

As an amateur, Mayweather also enjoyed plenty of success.

Floyd Mayweather

‘TBE’ won three national Golden Gloves championships in 1993, 1994 and 1996 – and scooped a bronze medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

However, he was unable to maintain an undefeated record in his vested years.

Mayweather lost eight times in a 92-fight amateur career (84-8) against varying levels of opposition.

Many sites list him as being 84-6 while others claim he had even lost as many as nine fights, yet there is only proof of eight – most of which aren’t accompanied by video footage.

The first defeat Mayweather suffered in the unpaid ranks was a points loss to Arnulfo Bravo at the 1994 United States Junior National Championships.

Floyd Mayweather

Bravo was a decent amateur, who won the 1995 national Golden Gloves (112lbs) but wasn’t able to replicate the same kind of successes in the pros.

He fought six times in the paid ranks from 1996 to 1997, compiling an unremarkable 4-2 record.

The next man to beat Mayweather was Martin Castillo at a 1994 United States vs Mexico dual meet in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Oleksandr Usyk savaged reigning IBF World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Dubois when comparing him to Anthony Joshua. The 37-year-old made history in May after becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era, following a monumental journey that saw him overcome five British fighters in six years. ‘

The Cat’ first secured the unified heavyweight title by defeating Joshua, making a mockery of claims that Usyk’s size would be detrimental to his success after moving up from cruiserweight. He then defended his titles against ‘AJ’ in a rematch, before winning a controversial bout against Dubois. Following a cagey opening to the fight, Dubois appeared to drop Usyk in the fifth round, but faced cries of a low blow coming from Ukrainian and his corner.

Joshua on second loss to Usyk: 'I can handle it for sure' – RingSide24

Siding with the Ukrainian, referee Luis Pabon ruled the body shot to be low and allowed Usyk time to recover. Had it been deemed to be a legal punch, it is highly unlikely that Usyk would have been able to recover sufficiently to beat the official’s count.

After being allowed to recover, Usyk then went on to ensure his retention of the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight belts via a ninth-round knockout. Complaints from Dubois’ promoter, Frank Warren, were not successful in securing a rematch and Usyk moved past the Londoner after the scare.

Dubois Now Holds One of Usyk’s Former Titles

In his next fight, Usyk would battle past Tyson Fury to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion. However, just five weeks after that monumental victory, Usyk would be forced to vacate his IBF heavyweight title. Within hours, interim champion Dubois was upgraded to full IBF world champion – an ironic twist given his history with Usyk.

The 26-year-old will now face Joshua in his first title defence, with Wembley Stadium playing host to the clash on the 21st of September. In the build-up to that fight, an unflattering comparison that Usyk made between Dubois and Joshua during an interview with Boxing News has emerged. He was pretty brutal in his assessment.

Although Usyk has two wins over Joshua, both game via decision, whereas he was able to halt Dubois inside the scheduled distance. Whether or not the harsh words stemmed from his anger on the controversy with the match against Dubois, ‘Dynamite’ has certainly proved that he belongs at world level and an exciting bout looks to be in store when he clashes with Joshua in September.

Shakur Stevenson is a free agent now, as his contract with Bob Arum’s Top Rank ended with his July 6 fight against German Olympic Medalist Artem Harutyunyan. Every top promoter has now his eyes on the WBC lightweight champion. In addition to Top Rank’s $15 million offer which Stevenson declined, Oscar De La Hoya and Eddie Hearn are also eager to sign the Newark native to their respective stables. Nonetheless, according to an insider, Stevenson might have a name in mind about who he wants to collaborate with.

There has been a lot of chatter about who Stevenson will choose as his promoter, and there are rumors that Floyd Mayweather Jr. may win the race to sign the young boxer soon. According to a YouTuber and boxing insider with ties to the Mayweather Team, Floyd may just have the perfect bait for Shakur.

Shakur Stevenson’s chance to possibly fight Gervonta Davis

Boxing insider and YouTuber ‘Blue Blood Sports TV’ began unveiling the rumor by first dismissing the claim that Shakur Stevenson had brought in Floyd Mayweather as his official advisor. And that the five-division champ was advising Stevenson to fight “the likes of Ryan Garcia”. Dispelling the notion, the host of Blue Blood Sports said, “Well, this is not true people, this is not true. He has an advisor, and he has a manager in the form of J Prince. But does he look at Floyd Mayweather for advice, absolutely.”

‘Blue Blood Sports TV’ revealed that a supposed FaceTime call that Stevenson had with Floyd Mayweather recently led many to think that Shakur was joining Mayweather Promotions instead of Matchroom or Golden Boy Promotions.

The Boxing insider added, “But now, I’ll tell you what – Floyd Mayweather has a deal on the table that he is offering Shakur Stevenson, I can tell you that. It’s a multi-fight deal that’s going to guarantee Shakur Stevenson gets a fight with Gervonta Davis at some point in time.”  This, told to Blue Blood Sports by a source inside Mayweather’s team, is what leads the insider to believe that Floyd Mayweather may sign ‘Sugar’ soon.

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather

The Newark-based boxer has long been anticipating a clash against Gervonta Davis. If these rumors really turn out to be true, fans will be thrilled to witness this much-awaited showdown. Interestingly, only a few days ago, Shakur Stevenson had expressed his openness to joining hands with ‘Money’.

Shakur Stevenson is open to a “partnership” with Floyd Mayweather

‘Sugar’ and the boxing great share a good relationship with each other. So much so that Mayweather even called Stevenson after his fight with Harutyunyan to suggest little things that he could have done better. While discussing the possibility of Shakur joining Mayweather Promotions on the CigarTalk show, Stevenson stated, “It’s an option, for sure. I got nothing but respect and love for Floyd.”

Floyd Mayweather

Furthermore, the 22-0 boxer added, “At the end of the day, I wouldn’t mind working with Floyd as long as it makes sense, and it is a partnership type of thing. I appreciate Floyd.” Gervonta Davis was the main attraction of Mayweather Promotions. But in 2022, Tank parted ways with the organization.

Shakur Stevenson could take that spot, and he would naturally receive tutelage from the great Floyd Mayweather as well. Do you think Stevenson will join Mayweather Promotions? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Gervonta Davis could be prevented from travelling to the Paris Olympics to support Team USA.

Davis has a plan to travel out to the French capital to support the boxing team in their pursuit of a gold medal haul later this month.

But the 29-year-old is currently on probation after being jailed last year for a hit-and-run that took place in Baltimore in 2020, and this restricts him from travelling abroad.

Tank’s attorney, Hunter Pruette, has requested the boxing star is permitted to travel on the grounds that he will ‘support and advise’ the team from July 19 to August 11.

Gervonta Davis

Judge Althea. M Handy has yet to make a final decision on the request, but has insisted she needs more information before the ban can be temporarily lifted.

According to the Baltimore Banner, she ended the hearing on Wednesday and walked off the bench, insisting: “We’re going to terminate this, Mr. Davis. We’re finished with this hearing.”

High Performance Director for Team USA, Matt Johnson, wrote in Davis’ defence, adding: “Given his status amongst the world’s best boxers, Mr. Davis would be a key asset in motivating and supporting our team to achieve Olympic greatness and become the number one nation in the world at this year’s Olympic Games.”

Davis’ lawyer Pruette also argued that his client had been compliant during his probational period.

Handy had later accused the attorney of being ‘arrogant’ which he suggested he had never been named during his entire 20-year period practising law.

Gervonta Davis

A final decision has yet to be made and it is unclear if Davis will be able to get a resolution before his planned travel date.

It is not Davis’ first experience with the judge, having hit out at her when she sent him to jail last year.

He went live on Instagram, saying: “Man, I just wanna let the people know that this judge is crazy, bro.

Gervonta Davis versus Shakur Stevenson is one of the most sought-after fights in the sport.

The all-American clash would see two world titles and two undefeated records on the line, pitting Stevenson’s elite defence and movement against ‘Tank’s calculated stalking and devastating power.

Both men benefitted from Devin Haney relinquishing his lightweight titles, as Stevenson picked up the vacant WBC belt with a win over Edwin De Los Santos and Davis was elevated to WBA Champion, staging a knockout first defence against Frank Martin recently.

The pair have assured fans they will meet in the ring, and two-time welterweight world champion Shawn Porter looked ahead to that day on his podcast.

“[Tank] is the favourite right now. It’s really hard to see him losing to anybody. Y’all hate me if y’all want to but I have no clue what that fight gonna look like. It’s the greatest fight to be made in the sport right now.

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather

Don’t be so one-sided either way on this fight man, it’s a true 50/50… if anything 55/45 [for Tank] right now. [Shakur] can’t afford to [make the fight boring]. Tank is gonna play to the crowd, the crowd is gonna be on his side, and that’s gonna be a hard thing to get away from.”

Like many in-demand fights in boxing, fans will have to wait for it to marinate a while longer as Davis enters talks with IBF Champion Vasiliy Lomachenko.

The Problem Child has a former world champion lying in wait in case Tyson pulls out

JAKE PAUL reportedly has a Plan B in place in case Mike Tyson is forced out of their showdown.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was set to throw down with the former undisputed heavyweight champion in a controversial crossover clash later this month.

But their much-maligned Texas tussle ended up being postponed after Tyson suffered a medical emergency on board a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

Mike Tyson

The pair, 27 and 58 respectively, are now slated to throw down on November 15 – provided Paul gets through his short-notice showdown with ex-UFC star Mike Perry.

But Paul is said to have already drawn up a contingency plan in case Iron Mike is forced to withdraw from the fight.

That’s according to World Boxing News, who claims he’s lined up former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr as a back-up opponent.

Chavez Jr was initially set to face former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till on the undercard of Paul vs Tyson.

But the Mexican will now fight Ultimate Fighter season 17 runner-up Uriah Hall.

Paul versus Tyson has controversially been sanctioned as a professional bout.

But the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is understood to be keeping close tabs on Tyson’s health ahead of the rescheduled Dallas dust-up.

But the fight could fall through if Paul doesn’t come through his clash with Perry unscathed.

The YouTube sensation knows he’s taking a risk fighting ‘Platinum’, saying: “Now, as I prepare for my fight against Iron Mike, there’s no better opponent for me than Mike Perry.

Claressa Shields and Lauren Price are the only two women to have won Olympic middleweight gold medals so far; Shields and Price are now professional world champions operating in different weight divisions but the American star can see a super-fight with Price taking place down the line

Claressa Shields is a unique fighter. An undisputed champion, she is a multi-weight titlist who has also competed in MMA and who will go for a title in a fourth division later this month.

Claressa Shields stops Brittney Elkin to win MMA debut by TKO

She will challenge Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse for the WBC heavyweight championship in Detroit.

The Olympic middleweight gold medal has only been won by two women, Shields in 2012 and 2016, and most recently Wales’ Lauren Price, who triumphed at the Tokyo Games.

Price dropped down to welterweight after the Olympics and is only seven bouts into her professional career, but has won the inaugural women’s British title and the WBA world title already.
Shields does not rule out Price becoming one of her future rivals.
“It’s hard to put anything past Olympic champions. She won the Olympics 2021,” Shields
“I feel like when you’ve been all over the world and you’ve boxed and you’ve won World championships, it’s kind of destined for you to be great in the pros. I wish her the best of luck.”
