Anthony Joshua has given his immediate reaction to Joseph Parker stopping Martin Bakole in two rounds in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Bakole valiantly stepped in on two days’ notice to save the card’s co-main event when IBF Heavyweight World Champion Daniel Dubois took unwell.

Despite the lack of proper training camp, many in the sport backed Bakole to spring the upset due to his heavy hands. Parker was unfazed by the addition of a different big puncher in the opposite corner, and he was willing to trade with Bakole to prove it.

That paid off in round two when he landed an overhand right that shook Bakole and saw him stumble and fall off balance. Trainer Billy Nelson was quick to throw in the towel, seeing his man hurt and perhaps aware that the last minute travel had taken its toll.

Speaking on the DAZN broadcast, Joshua – who beat Parker to unify the heavyweight belts back in 2018 – had nothing but praise for his former rival and used his performance as an example as to how fortunes can turn.Joseph Parker

“I don’t just look at the fights that Parker’s had recently. The journey of Joseph Parker is one to be studied. How he’s risen to the top of the game, a slight setback – and in boxing you know how detrimental that is – and it takes a real man, a real man of courage and discipline, to come back and compete for the championship once again.

“He rose to the occasion. Credit to him and his team because he’s done an amazing job tonight.”

Parker said post-fight that he will fight anyone, and nobody will dare question that after beating three of the division’s biggest punchers in Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang and Bakole on the bounce.

Martin Bakole replaced Daniel Dubois suddenly, but Joseph Parker dispatched him in two rounds before the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol rematch for undisputed light-heavyweight title;

Joseph Parker took just two rounds to knock out Martin Bakole, a top-tier heavyweight who came in at the shortest possible notice to replace Daniel Dubois, at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.

Bakole was attempting a feat that was surely without precedent in the sport. When Daniel Dubois, the IBF world champion, fell ill just two days before he was due to fight Parker, Bakole decided to replace him.

Travelling from Kinshasa in the DR Congo, Bakole landed in Riyadh in the early hours of Saturday morning to take on Parker, another world-ranked heavyweight, later that night for the latter’s WBO Interim title.

Parker jabbed diligently at the 310lb behemoth. But Bakole cuffed him with a hard right just before the end of the first round.Joseph Parker

The two tapped gloves respectfully and then Bakole allowed himself a brief moment of celebration. He liked his start.

Fighting in gloves borrowed from Dubois, Bakole marched after Parker in the second round.

There were hints of danger from Bakole as he heaved punches at the body, then the head.

Bakole demonstrably shook off the New Zealander’s cross and came for him.

But Parker then bowled over his right. It clipped Bakole high on the head. That robbed him of his balance, his legs shivered out from under him and Bakole toppled over.

Bakole used the ropes to heave himself upright, but the referee would not let him continue, ruling him out at 2:17 of the second round.

“Martin Bakole, thank you for accepting the challenge of flying all the way here on short notice and giving me a good fight,” Parker said afterwards.

“I stayed calm, structured, composed and got the victory.

“I’m fit, strong, healthy and sharp. Andy Lee broke it down for me, I had to be patient.”

The WBO Interim belt means he should be the mandatory challenger for their world title, held by unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.

“How can I fight for the world title next?” he declared. “If Usyk wants a dance partner. I want to fight for a world title, I want to be champion of the world again.”

Parker speaks to DAZN – ‘How can I fight for the world title next?’

“I want to thank the people of Saudi Arabia and my team. Martin Bakole, thank you very much for accepting the invitation and for giving me a good fight.

“I’m fit, I’m strong and I’m healthy thanks to these men. Andy [Lee] was breaking it down for me.

“Who’s next? How can I fight for the world title next? If [Oleksandr] Usyk wants a dance partner next, then we can get Uncle Frank [Warren] in here.Joseph Parker

“Andy gave me the instruction to be patient and I caught him when he came.”

Now it’s time for the big one…

Parker deserves title shot

Joseph Parker looked very sharp and deserves his shot at the world title now, even though Daniel Dubois might fight Oleksandr Usyk next for the undisputed crown.

Martin Bakole was horribly out of shape and Parker’s right hand did for him…

Serena Williams took herself on a luxurious girls trip following the Super Bowl, and she just dropped a bunch of poolside bikini pics without any filters or edits.

Serena captioned the pics—which feature her wearing a floral green bikini top and matching pants—with “Unfiltered untouched magic at magic hour.”

Serena also posted photos of herself and her daughter enjoying the ocean, which she captioned “My mini mini @adiraohanian wanted to take a dip in the ocean. I could not say no.”

FYI, the tennis champion hopped on Twitter two days ago to respond to her husband Alexis Ohanian’s defense of her iconic Crip Walk during the Super Bowl. In case you missed it, Alexis wrote “Some of y’all have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago and it shows…. This is bigger than the music.”

In response, she tweeted “That there my baby daddy and husband. Always got my back. I Love you Gosh I’m so late to the game (I’ve been sick) & busy investing in billion dollar companies and running @WYNbeauty… def not dancing to be petty lol. I think I proved 23 times over (not counting 4 gold medals) that I simply don’t have time for petty. All love and respect always nothing negative here.”

Couldn’t love her more, I fear!

The Olympic gold medalist and her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, finally took their honeymoon after tying the knot two years ago

Simone Biles and husband Jonathan Owens finally went on their honeymoon after two years of marriage!

Biles shared photos from their trip to Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 16, documenting their travels as they flew from the U.S. to South Africa. She began the series with pictures of herself and the Chicago Bears player surrounded by multiple giant suitcases as well as several adorable snaps from the airplane.

The 27-year-old gold medalist then shared a photo of herself and Owens clinking champagne flutes with a hotel suite in the background. “Made it to south africa,” she wrote across the image in pink lettering.Simone Biles

“Not gonna lie I almost s—” myself,” Biles joked in the caption of a video featuring a male lion slinking past their vehicle.

Biles and Owens, 29, first met in 2020 and were engaged in February 2022. The couple tied the knot a little over a year later in April 2023 at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston. A few weeks later, they hosted a second wedding celebration in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

While speaking to the Texas Monthly in June 2021, Owens revealed that he actually didn’t know who Biles was when they first met.

“I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked,” he revealed.

The ensuing years since their wedding have been jammed packed, with Owens leaving the Green Bay Packers and signing a two-year free-agent contract with the Chicago Bears. Biles, meanwhile, competed in the Paris Summer Olympics — where Owens was there to cheer her on every step of the way.

Biles joked earlier in February that she still hasn’t fully unpacked from the Olympics, where she cemented herself as the greatest of all time gymnast after winning three gold medals and one silver, for a career total of 11.

Eddie Hearn has confirmed that Anthony Joshua’s primary focus is reclaiming the heavyweight championship—regardless of who holds the title.

Joshua, who last fought in September 2024 when he suffered a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, is determined to become a three-time world heavyweight champion. With Tyson Fury now retired, the long-anticipated all-British clash is no longer an option, shifting Anthony Joshua’s attention to the upcoming Dubois vs. Parker fight.

“Right now, because Tyson Fury is retired, the number one choice for AJ is to fight for the world heavyweight title,” Hearn told BetFred.

“That’s 99 per cent of what he wants to do. If that’s Daniel Dubois, no problem. If that’s Joseph Parker, no problem. If AJ decides that’s what he’s doing, then it’s done. Some people say he shouldn’t have fought Oleksandr Usyk. What are you talking about? It’s your job—he was the mandatory challenger. What do you want him to do? Give up his belt and get criticized for ducking Usyk?”Anthony Joshua

Joshua previously defeated Parker in 2018 and will closely watch the Dubois vs. Parker fight, as the winner could be his next opponent.

Despite recent criticism, Hearn has dismissed any talk of Joshua retiring.

“Not yet, but that time will come,” Hearn said. “Those conversations happen behind the scenes when a fighter is struggling in camp. If you no longer have it, it will become clear.

“Injuries will pile up, you’ll get hurt in sparring, and you won’t be as sharp. When that moment comes, the team will recognise it, and that’s when I’ll have that conversation with him.”

FLOYD MAYWEATHER is hosting a WEEK’S worth of birthday celebrations in Miami – costing £4million.

The boxing legend turns 48 on Monday, February 24 and it will mark the end of seven days worth of partying.

According to TMZ, Mayweather is spending $5m (£4m) on a series of bashes in Miami starting on Monday, February 17.

The American and 400 of his closest family and friends travelled to South Beach to celebrate his 48th.

He is said to have put up his pals in fancy hotels throughout Miami Beach.Floyd Mayweather

Beach parties, an ATV tour, roller-skating – one of Mayweather’s favourite hobbies – and bowling fill up the itinerary.

Mayweather is an avid skater and even owns his own Las Vegas rink – Skate Rock City.

The 50-0 legend will also throw an event at a local mansion as well as on a yacht.

And he appeared to confirm the wild plans by posting online: “Come party with me for my birthday Miami!”

Mayweather officially retired in 2017 after victory over UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 36.

Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather have had a turbulent relationship.

Boxing legend Mayweather guided ‘Tank’ during the majority of his career, as Davis won world titles in multiple weight divisions and became widely regarded as one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.

The two then parted ways in 2022, and things have seemingly turned hostile since then, with both men having fired insults in the opposite direction in the years that have followed.

Davis has now revealed that his former mentor Mayweather once put him in a fight where he wanted ‘Tank’ to lose, explaining to The Jay Hill Podcast how things transpired.

“I’ve been in situations where I was in a lose-lose situation and came out still on top. He [Mayweather] put me in to make me lose and thought I would lose. A boxing match. Jose Pedraza. My first world title. I was 16-0 and I was 21 at the time and I hadn’t fought in seven, eight monthsGervonta Davis

Around that time I wasn’t making that much. Maybe around 10,000 a fight. Six months is crazy to not fight. When they came back and said you’ve got to fight this fighter Pedraza, If you don’t fight him you’re not fighting and sitting on the shelf.

I had to fight him, in the midst of all that happening, I got evicted, I had to sell my jewellery.

For sure [Floyd did that intentionally].”

Davis fought Pedraza back in January 2017, winning the fight by seventh round stoppage to capture the IBF super-featherweight title and become world champion for the first time.

‘Tank’ returns to action in March when he defends his WBA lightweight crown against Lamont Roach, but another recently crowned world champion is already calling to face Davis next.

The history-making Olympic gymnast shared a glimpse into the couple’s Valentine’s Day celebrations

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens amped up the romance this week.

On Friday, the couple marked their second Valentine’s Day together since tying the knot almost two years ago.

The history-making Olympian and the football player first met through dating app Raya shortly before the pandemic in 2020, and got engaged in February of 2022. They tied the knot with two weddings, one in Houston in April 2023 and another in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the following month.

Following their Valentine’s Day celebrations, Simone took to Instagram and shared a sweet glimpse into them with fans.

She started off with a photo of her wearing a silky, baby pink dress and long braids, holding a large bouquet of massive white roses, followed by one of Jonathan wearing a colorful printed shirt.Simone Biles

The gymnast also included a photo of the roses laid down on a bed, plus a snap of Jonathan as the two enjoyed a lunch with mimosas, and lastly another photo of her holding the epic bouquet.

“Valentine’s day,” she simply wrote in her caption, and fans were then quick to take to the comments section under the post and gush over it, though first Jonathan himself wrote: “Had the most amazing day with you,” alongside a red heart emoji.

Others followed suit with: “You look stunning! I love your dress,” and: “You look so beautiful and wonderful!!!” as well as: “The hair, the dress, you look stunning,” plus another added: “You are so beautiful.”

It’s a special, lowkey time for Simone and Jonathan, who are both on a break from their respective sports.

Simone was also recently celebrated at the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year event, honoring her history-making performance at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, which came after a two-year break. For the special moment, she had her husband  by her side, plus her parents, Nellie and Ronald Biles, as well as former teammate Aly Raisman.

They say excellence has a unique taste—one that only the truly exceptional can savor. In the world of golf, this refined palate for greatness has been TaylorMade’s signature since 1979, when Gary Adams’s revolutionary stainless steel metalwood driver first changed the game forever. From that moment, the brand’s story became intertwined with golf’s greatest legends.

When Tiger Woods chose the sports equipment company in 2017, it wasn’t just another deal—it evolved into a partnership that led to the creation of the Sun Day Red brand in 2024. When Rory McIlroy signed his landmark deal, it wasn’t just about equipment—it was about shaping golf’s future. Even as the sport evolved, TaylorMade’s eye for exceptional talent remained unwavering, bringing stars like Scottie Scheffler, Nelly Korda, and Charley Hull into their fold.

And now, a new rising star joins this league of golf’s elite, ready to make her mark in the world of golf. What’s up guys? This is Kai Trump. And I’m officially partnering up with Team TaylorMade,” announced Donald Trump’s granddaughter in an Instagram Reel dated February 14, marking another historic chapter in TaylorMade’s legacy of prestigious partnerships. Captioned, “I’m proud to officially be joining team TaylorMade! This has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid and I can’t wait for the journey ahead. Excited to see what we can accomplish together in the future!” the video showed the budding golfer showing off her skills.tiger woods President Trump

The significance runs deep. At just 17, the University of Miami committ’s signing with TaylorMade marks another milestone in her already impressive career trajectory. The high school golf sensation, who recently inked a deal with Leaf Trading Cards in January 2025, brings with her a NIL valuation of $1.2 million—ranking No. 1 in women’s high school golf. Her social media influence, with over 5 million followers across platforms, represents a new era in golf where athletic excellence meets digital presence.

Having said that, it’s understandable why the brand would rope in the amateur golfer. Having delved into the sport at the young age of four, she’s turned heads throughout—firstly by becoming the varsity golf team captain in her second year and garnering multiple regional and conference championships, at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida. Additionally, the youngster also won the 2022 Women’s Club Championship and the 2024 Ladies Club Championship at Trump International Palm Beach.

Safe to say that this strategic alliance between a historic golf brand and one of the sport’s most promising young talents who’s already ranking No. 81 in overall NIL rankings, is going to pay the latter in dividends.
