Oleksandr Usyk has barely put a foot wrong during his unblemished 23-0 professional career – but Eddie Hearn believes one man could push him all the way.

The Ukrainian slickster is the current pound-for-pound king of boxing and is one of only three male fighters in the four-belt era to achieve undisputed supremacy in two separate weight classes (alongside Naoya Inoue and Terence Crawford).

After unifying all the belts at cruiserweight with a stunning victory over Murat Gassiev in July 2018, and then defending them by flattening Tony Bellew four months later, Usyk moved up to boxing’s glamour division.

There, he recorded a couple of routine victories over Chazz Witherspoon and Derek Chisora before landing a blockbuster showdown with WBA, WBO and IBF title holder Anthony Joshua.

Several members of the boxing fraternity insisted that Usyk was ‘too small’ to beat AJ.Anthony Joshua 'won't sleep' until he beats the Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury rematch winner | Boxing News | Sky Sports

But the masterful technician proved his doubters wrong by outclassing the Watford powerhouse in back-to-back bouts.

Usyk then laid waste to the fast-rising Daniel Dubois before taking on WBC champion Tyson Fury in May 2024 for the undisputed crown.

‘The Cat’ edged their epic inaugural encounter via split decision and subsequently widened the margin in their rematch seven months later.

In between the two fights, Usyk was forced to relinquish the IBF title to Dubois in order to pursue his rematch with Fury.

Parker is ready to start a new chapter in his career after a run of strong performances.

He takes on Daniel Dubois and victory may set him on the path to face Joshua who gave him his first professional defeat in 2018.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, David Higgins, Parker’s promoter, stated simply that his client is interested in a Joshua rematch

He emphasized Parker’s willingness to fight Joshua once more if the circumstances permit and Parker can overcome Dubois.

Parker may get the chance to fill the vacuum left by Tyson Fury’s abrupt retirement to face Joshua at Wembley Stadium this summer.

Parker and Joshua last faced off in a Cardiff unification fight that concluded in a unanimous decision in favour of the British fighter.

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has expressed his determination to fight Tyson Fury in 2025, declaring that the long-anticipated clash between the two British heavyweights “has to happen this year.”

A showdown between the two rivals has been in the works for years but has yet to materialise. Both fighters are coming off losses in world title bouts, with Anthony Joshua suffering a stoppage defeat to Daniel Dubois in September and Fury falling to Oleksandr Usyk in December.

Speaking at the Ring Magazine Awards in London, the 35-year-old Joshua reiterated his desire to make the fight a reality.

“It’s a fight I want to see because I am a fan of boxing. When I am in the gym, everyone is asking me [about this fight]. I ain’t got many years ahead of me. I want to leave the game with a bang and make an impact,” Joshua said. “Everyone is asking me the same question. It’s up to me to deliver, that’s why I’m saying it has to happen this year. I think we can make this fight happen.”anthony joshua Tyson Fury

Despite his eagerness, Joshua admitted that no formal negotiations have begun with Fury’s team. However, his promoter, Eddie Hearn, has hinted that Wembley Stadium could host the blockbuster fight.

Asked by Sky Sports about a potential Wembley date, Hearn said: “Yes. We’re looking to get back in the ring in May or June. If it ended up being July, it doesn’t really matter.”

Both fighters are currently without world titles, making this a highly anticipated all-British clash. With fans clamouring for the bout and Joshua pushing to secure it this year, the boxing world awaits confirmation of what could be one of the biggest heavyweight showdowns in recent history.

Two-time world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, has set his sights on becoming a three-time world champion by facing off against Tyson Fury in 2025.

The British-Nigerian boxer revealed his ambitions while speaking to journalists during a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the president’s Ikoyi residence in Lagos on Wednesday.

“My target is to become a three-time world champion and fight Tyson Fury in 2025,” Joshua stated confidently.

Reflecting on the ups and downs of his career, he acknowledged past setbacks, but reaffirmed his commitment to rising stronger, saying “of course, I should have won [past matches], but I didn’t. I can’t stop now; I have to keep going until I reach my destination.”

Joshua, who is in Nigeria for the holiday season, described the energy in the country as “10/10″, expressing gratitude for the warm reception by President Tinubu and praised the hospitality extended to him and his family.Tyson Fury

“They did an amazing job hosting me. I got to see how the country is organized and run and learn about the big plans for the future,” he said.

Discussing his plans for 2025, Joshua emphasised his determination to seize every opportunity and improve on his past performances.

“Hunger makes you want to work harder because time is limited. When I look back at 2024, I believe I could have done more, and now I have another chance in 2025. I’m going to make sure I take every opportunity,” he said.

Asked about the prospect of facing Tyson Fury, Joshua acknowledged the uncertainty, but welcomed the challenge.

We’ll see. Let’s get in the ring. Only God knows, but for me, we’ll see in the future,” he remarked.

Joshua also shared a heartfelt message for Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora.

“To all Nigerians in the diaspora, you have a place called home. It’s a beautiful place, and the energy here is unbelievable. I love you all with my heart,” he said, pledging to support local communities.

Daniel Dubois is one of the top dogs in the heavyweight division.

The 27-year-old has put together three of the best back-to-back wins anywhere in the sport in the last year or so. He first managed to stop the giant Jarrell Miller in the final few seconds of their fight last December, then he

Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua overcame some early pressure from Filip Hrgovic to secure another stoppage win before beating Anthony Joshua with a stunning knockout this September.

Following Joshua’s defeat, the Ben Davison Performance Centre was left in a heavy atmosphere that impacted everyone, including rising star Moses Itauma.

Anthony Joshua’s recent loss to Daniel Dubois cast a heavy shadow over the Ben Davison Performance Centre, affecting not only his career but also the morale of his trainer and fellow fighters. Young heavyweight contender Moses Itauma, who trains under Davison’s guidance, described the atmosphere as deeply somber, akin to the aftermath of a personal loss. For Itauma and his gym mates, Joshua’s defeat was a sobering reminder of boxing’s unforgiving nature and the stakes at play for anyone climbing the ranks.

Joshua’s unexpected defeat in five intense rounds by Dubois shook his team and gym to the core, with the normally upbeat Ben Davison struggling to rally spirits. Itauma, a 19-year-old with high aspirations in the sport, explained that returning to the gym felt like entering a space of mourning. “The gym vibe was down,” Itauma shared. “Ben’s reaction reminded me that this isn’t just a sport; it’s a part of who we are. It mattered that he wasn’t just brushing it off.” For Itauma, Davison’s somber mood signaled a depth of commitment, one that Itauma believes is crucial for a coach guiding fighters to the top.

Despite the challenges, Itauma sees the reaction to Joshua’s loss as a catalyst, a spark pushing everyone to refocus on their individual paths. Having recently returned from a break and eager to train, he described how the emotional weight in the gym helped him channel that energy toward his next fight against Australian Demsey McKean on December 21. This atmosphere of seriousness reminded Itauma of his own goals and what it takes to achieve them.

Itauma’s determination to overcome

Itauma, who has already achieved ten wins in his early career, feels a heightened drive to succeed in the wake of Joshua’s loss. His path to success hasn’t been easy, and the weight of Joshua’s defeat underscores the resilience required in boxing. “When I came back from my holiday, I realized how much I need this,” Itauma said. “Boxing isn’t just a job; it’s part of me. I want to make an impact not only in the ring but in people’s lives.”

AJ’s loss to Daniel Dubois doesn’t appear to have changed much.

Boxing fans want to see the biggest names fight the biggest names. That’s not always possible, but there was a time where that seemed to cease to be the case. In the past few years, though, fans have gotten what they always wanted. Big-time boxers have put aside differences and found a way to negotiate mega fights.

Tyson Fury can proudly throw his name into that category. He’s never been afraid, setting up fights against Wladimir KlitschkoDerek ChisoraDeontay Wilder, and most recently, Oleksandr Usyk. The Usyk fight didn’t go as he planned, with the relentless Ukrainian edging him out in a split decision. Fury will get his chance at revenge in December, but he continues to dream up a fight against Anthony Joshua with seemingly every chance he gets.

Fury won't make Joshua mistake in Ngannou fight

Tyson Fury says he will fight Anthony Joshua no matter what

He did so again while speaking to TNT Sports on Saturday, reiterating that he plans to fight Joshua at some point, and making it clear that Joshua’s loss to Daniel Dubois changes nothing in that regard.

He will never escape the Gypsy King. He will always have to fight me. I don’t care if he never wins another fight for 20 years, we will have to fight for the fans of this country… At the end of the day, it would be a travesty if we didn’t fight. No matter if he loses 20 more fights, if he doesn’t win another fight and he has 10 years away from the game, it doesn’t matter. We have to fight.

Fury also says it doesn’t matter if the two are 50 years old when it happens. That may actually have to be the case if they wait much longer, though. Fury just turned 36, while Joshua will turn 35 in 10 days. AJ, in particular, appears to be on the very tail end of his career.

If the bout does come to fruition, it will be a true spectacle for the British audience. It makes too much sense not to happen, but time isn’t on their side.

Potential second bout between the British heavyweights would not be staged at Wembley

Anthony Joshua is keen to take on Daniel Dubois in a rematch which is likely to take place in Saudi Arabia, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn.

Joshua was floored four times by Dubois before being knocked out in the fifth round of their heavyweight title bout at Wembley last month.

The 34-year-old has a rematch clause in his contract with the Saudi organisers who staged the fight.

And when asked to provide an update on the situation, Hearn told FightHub: “So the big decision now really is – do we take the rematch?

“There’s a keenness from His Excellency [Turki Alalshikh] to make that rematch in February, it’s part of our options within our contract.

“I think AJ will always lean towards the rematch. You saw him rematch Andy Ruiz straight away, you saw him rematch Oleksandr Usyk straight away.

“For me the other carrot that may dangle is obviously waiting for the Fury vs Usyk fight on December 21. But he said something the other day: ‘What happens if one of them gets injured?’

Anthony Joshua

“You’re gonna be out of the ring for nearly a year, and I’m not sure coming off the back of that kind of defeat you want to be out the gym for too long.

DDD dropped AJ four times including a lethal finish in the fifth round to bring an end to proceedings.

There were some big moments prior to the main event on Wembley’s stacked undercard – Josh Warrington RETIRED after losing to Anthony Cacace while Liam Gallagher provided the music with a three-song set comprising of Oasis anthems.

Having fun until the very end

Seconds before he went out on his shield, Anthony Joshua stuck his tongue out at someone in the crowd.

He was clearly having fun in there, although it was somewhat bizarre for him to be focused on what was going on outside the ring as opposed to Dubois.
