One of boxing’s hottest prospects, Curmel Moton, will feature on Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal’s undercard this weekend.
On Wednesday night, the 18-year-old prospect, who fights under Floyd Mayweather’s promotional banner, was added to Saturday’s card as a late addition.
He will face Russian journeyman Nikolai Buzolin (9-8-1) in his fourth professional outing (3-0).
Even though Moton is still in the fledgling stages of his promising career, there is plenty of hype surrounding the teenager.
Several media outlets have dubbed him ‘the next Floyd Mayweather’ while his mentor insists Moton is ‘destined to be great’.
Mayweather has consistently slotted Moton onto big undercards in order to get as many eyes on his young prospect as possible.
His debut, a first-round blowout of the then-undefeated Ezequiel Flores, took place on the Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo bill last September.
Meanwhile, his most recent outing against Anthony Cuba (7-1-2) – the only fight of his career so far to go the distance – was booked for the Tim Tszyu vs Sebastian Fundora show in March.
It is, therefore, no surprise that he has been added to the Diaz vs Masvidal showpiece event, which has garnered a lot of interest from both the boxing and MMA worlds.
The pair are set to rematch in boxing, five years removed from their inaugural encounter at UFC 244.
