Julio Cesar Chavez teases potential exhibition fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

How would you like watching Floyd fighting Julio Cesar Chavez senior?

No, this is not a drill. Julio Cesar Chavez Senior just turned the boxing world upside down and he has been retired for many years. Although in recent years, he has fought a few exhibition matches and he is currently in better shape than 90% of the men’s population on the planet. With that in mind, Chavez feels so good physically that he is even sending a challenge to another one of the greatest boxers in history. Don Julio decided to post a fighting poster on his Instagram account of him when he was younger with Floyd on the other side. With this, Julio Cesar Chavez is challenging Floyd Mayweather Jr. to an exhibition match. If that happens, we would be talking about potentially the most seen exhibition boxing match in history.

Could Chavez vs Floyd Mayweather even happen?

 Floyd Mayweather

To be clear, Julio Cesar Chavez fought Jorge ‘Traviseo’ Arce in another exhibition fight not that long ago. The last minute of that fight contains the most riveting boxing we’ve seen in any exhibition fight before. If Floyd Mayweather gets serious about this, we could be in for a treat that we never imagined we would get. Because Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Julio Cesar Chavez are from entirely different eras. But they are both retired from the professional circuit. Age will definitely be a factor for Chavez, who is now 62 years old, he is older than Mike Tyson.

As far as how possible this potential fight might be, it’s hard to say because we only hae this post from Chavez. But those who know Don Julio will tell you he is a no BS kind of man. If he is teasing something, there might be a chance he has at least talked about this possibility with Floyd. THe poster does say September 16 in Las Vegas but nothing is confirmed. Should this fight happen, it would be interesting to see if the viewers on this potential event can beat the viewers on the upcoming fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson. Because we have a feeling ‘The Problem Child’ will break record in exhibition boxing history. But if this one happens, it makes it an instant contender for the same honor.
